Day 2

Today has been a long day. 9am lecture, McDonalds breakfast, wandered round the city centre, spent 3 hours in the library, had a presentation in my seminar, chatted to my friends, went food shopping, went home, made a hair appointment for tomorrow morning on the way home.
Today was also one of those days where I felt extremely impulsive. I've been bored of my hair for quite some time now as it has no real style and no matter what I do to it it remains straight and flat. So, I've decided to cut my hair into a bob with layers - I think, this could change come tomorrow - and have it messy, rather than straight all the time. When I post tomorrow my hair will definitely be a lot shorter, and hopefully I'll like it! If I don't, expect to have my head cut out of photos!! I'm dying my hair sometime early this week so by Wednesday/Thursday my hair should be a lot blonder! Nervous and excited at the same time!
Anyway, today's outfit. I would have worn these shoes if it were not for the miserable weather and the miles of walking I did today! Oh, and I am wearing tights - if I wasn't I would have frozen today, and yesterday. Decided to pair this slouchy fine knit top with the body con skirt as I thought it made a nice contrast and I liked the colours and patterns!
Blazer - Primark. Top and Shoes - Next. Skirt - New Look.
Hope you all have a good weekend and I shall post Day 3's outfit and my new hair tomorrow.
Oh, and just a quick thank you to all of you following and commenting on my blog! I read all your comments and they genuinely make me smile. It may take me a little while, but I will get back to all of you!!
Hayley.

Experiment: Day One.

Okay, so I've decided to try out something - an experiment, if you like. I am going to attempt to wear 20 items of clothing, just 20, for 40 days. Now, seeing as I like to wear lots of different things and own well over 100 items of clothing I'm not sure how difficult this is going to be! The idea was inspired by one of my lecturers who is always telling us to "squeeze variety out of limitation" so that we become more creative. So I have created this capsule wardrobe for the next 40 days - and nights, which should be interesting! So I shall be attempting to post on a daily basis so that you can see how well I do! Tomorrow I will list the items in my capsule wardrobe so that you can all check that I don't cheat!!
Tee (I customised it because I didn't like the length and the sleeves!) - Vero Moda. Skirt - Second hand, used to be my mum's. Boots - Next. Cardigan - Zara.

Breaking and Entering

Apologies for my grim expression and tired face - it has been a long day. Our flat was broken into earlier and my flat mate - in the room next door to mine - had her laptop and phone stolen. It was quite a shock, it happened in the middle of the day and we have no idea how they got in because you need 2 sets of keys to get in - 3 now one of the locks has been changed. Horrible thing was that I saw who it was but didn't realise. I thought I heard a faint knock at my door so I went to answer it but saw a girl who looked like one of my flat mates going into the girl who got burgled's room. They're quite close and in and out of each other's rooms all day so I thought nothing of it, and I saw her briefly from behind. About 5 minutes later my flat mate returned to find her stuff gone and room ransacked. Not nice, she was pretty upset at the thought of someone going through her stuff and she's lost a lot of photos which were on her laptop which she's quite upset about.
Anyway, besides the drama it's been quite a good day. My aunt gave birth to a little boy this evening - Aidan Sam Cook. My new cousin. I may have to go shopping and buy him a little outfit!
Blazer - Primark. Dress - Dorothy Perkins. Boots - Next.
And a quick thank you to all of you who have commented on my posts and who follow my blog, I really love hearing from you all.
Hayley.

Fireworks

Apologies for my delayed absence again, the work is beginning to pile up at University! Anyway this is the outfit I wore (along with a very warm coat) to go to the fireworks display in Nottingham last night! It was so amazing! There was a fun fair there which was so much fun - although some of those rides left my head spinning for a while afterwards!
I took these pictures besides my wardrobe to show you how small it is! I'm surprised my clothes even fit in it! They do, it's just hard to take them out as there's no room!
It's certainly getting colder here so I will be wearing lots more thick jumpers and tights as winter progresses! The annoying thing about my student accommodation and the hills and cobbles in some areas of Nottingham means that I cannot wear heels for a day outfit as I have to do a lot of walking around the city to do. I miss my heels so much!
Cardigan - Zara. Scarf, Hat, Tee, Skirt - H&M. Ankle Boots - Next. Tights - Unknown.

OTKs

Okay, apologies for the delay in reposting. Behind me is part of my flat, student rooms aren't the nicest but they are fine for what they are! Just wanted show you my lovely new over the knee suede boots with studding detail! I love them! Although they do slip down from being over the knee boots to being mid calf boots which is annoying! I wore this the other day to go to my lectures, pretty standard day really! Got a presentation on Monday which I am dreading and some work to do for Friday so I should get back to preparing! Will also try and find some nicer places to take some photos!
Cardigan - Asda. Boots and Lace skirt - New Look. Tee - Next. Tights - Unknown.

Sorry for the picture overload but seeing as I have been AWOL for so long I thought you might all excuse me! I am so sorry! Life has been so hectic. I've moved to Nottingham, my first time living away from home. So daunting at first, but I am absolutely loving it (as these pictures of my antics probably show!) I am loving University life! My course is amazing! I love the lectures, the seminars, the lecturers, (most of) the people on my course, the city! I am studying Fashion Communication and Promotion (FCP for short - I will refer to it as this in the future!) and it is amazing. Our first project involved us going around the city of Nottingham and looking in the shops looking for three different items and seeing how the prices and qualities varied and why that was, and then we had to do a presentation on it, which I think went quite well! We also went to see The September Issue with our course which was so amazing! Studying fashion is so much more amazing than I ever thought it would be! Aaaannnndd we are going to New York in January!!! Not long now! Our hotel is only a couple of blocks away from the Empire State Building and it looks gorgeous!
My flatmates are amazing! Hannah, the girl I've labelled in some of the photos, is also on my course which is so good! We spend practically all our time together! We're even taking up Mandarin lessons together. I've signed up for French lessons aswell and am in the process of teaching myself the basics of Italian. Also job hunting in Nottingham. I'm a very busy person right now. But I promise that I will try to update my blog at least twice a week! I have missed blogging so much but there have been so many distractions recently!
I will get back to blogging now.

Weekend antics

This weekend is beginning to catch up with me. Not a hangover, no, that would be a blessing right now. My legs are COVERED in insect bites. Just sitting in my friend's garden for around 3 hours and now my legs have lots of red bumps all over them. Nothing will stop the itching and it is driving me crazy.
Anyway, I wore this outfit this weekend to go to a BBQ. It was very nice indeed. The weather held, for once!

Top - Next. Skirt - Second hand (from my mum!)
Sorry for the poor picture quality!!

How was everyone else's weekend?

Hayley.
